CARCAVELOS QUINTA DO BARÃO M. OURO
Carcavelos Quinta do Barão M. Ouro is an old bottling that has become extremely rare, aimed primarily at collectors and connoisseurs of historic Portuguese fortified wines.
Produced according to the traditional Carcavelos style, it results from long-aged blends matured in wood. Its profile is often associated by specialised merchants with a 30+ year Carcavelos equivalent, based on the estimated average age of the blend.
It shows a deep golden to amber colour, with elegant aromas of dried fruit, honey, candied notes and old wood. On the palate it is smooth, balanced and highly persistent, with marked evolution and a long finish.
Its value reflects mainly the scarcity and historical nature of the bottling, rather than an officially declared age.
