QUINTA DE CHOCAPALHA CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2021
This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from one of the most respected estates in Torres Vedras. Quinta da Chocapalha, owned by the Tavares family since 1987, grows this grape in 31-year-old vines where the Atlantic climate and limestone soils create unique conditions for the French variety to express itself with Portuguese soul.
In the glass, it shows intense violet color that hints at the wine's youth and energy. The nose is generous: ripe blackberries, blackcurrant and a touch of fresh blueberry, all wrapped in soft spices and well-integrated wood notes. On the palate, it is rich and fruity, with ripe tannins that provide structure without aggression. The finish is long, with a hint of pepper and subtle oak.
This is a wine that calls for comfort food. Think grilled ribeye, meat lasagna or aged sheep cheese. Serve slightly cool at 16 degrees and let it breathe a few minutes before drinking. It has the backbone to evolve nicely over the next three to five years, but is already accessible for those who prefer not to wait.
