PONCHA MADEIRA POISO

Madeira Island does not only have wine. It has many excellent drinks, among them, one of the most known, traditional and typical is the Poncha da Madeira. Some theories give origin of the drink to India, where it is known as "pãnch". It became very popular in the 18th century and is today one of the island's ex libris. This famous Poncha da Madeira Poiso is ready to drink and is a blend of alcohol, honey, rum (sugar cane spirit), citrus fruits, lemon juice, passion fruit and citric acids.
