Our selection of the week is made up of three Douro wines, from two mythical houses, Casa Ferreirinha and Borges. Among them, centuries of history, work and art, made them icons in the wine world in Portugal.

BORGES SOALHEIRA 2014 RED
Deep ruby color. The initial aroma of eucalyptus and menthol then morphs into black plum, in a whole that isfinely integrated with pepper spices introduced during the aging in wood. The attack in the mouth is highly flavorsome and marked by fresh notes of menthol, witha good acidity that is well balanced by a full volume and soft tannins, in a whole that has a long and persistent finish.
BORGES GRANDE RESERVA 2005 RED
Wine full of personality and complex, of a special harvest, has an intense red color. The nose has notes of anise, eucalyptus and black forest fruits. In the mouth it has intense notes of fruit, combined with ripe tannins. Long finish.
CASA FERREIRINHA CALLABRIGA 2015 RED
A deep ruby colour. This wine has an aroma of good complexity, which reveals prominent components of red and wild fruit, alongside hints of asparagus and artichoke, undertones of truffle and forest floor, and additional notes of dried fruits, such as almonds, hazelnuts and figs. An aroma of incredibly well-integrated high-quality wood is also present. This wine is lively on the palate, with a balanced acidity, tannins of excellent quality, splashes of red fruit, hints of spices and a long finish of great harmony.
