In 1893, Francisco Roque da Silva decided to found the first biscuit and biscuit factory in Madeira Island, Fábrica Santo António.
His wife Guilhermina will then have put together a series of family recipes that over generations have been developed and perfected, always based on the selected choice of the best ingredients.
The Madeira Honey Cake recipe from Fábrica Santo António has been kept for 5 generations and its rich and aromatic flavor reflects the Madeiran tradition.
It is traditionally served cut by hand.
