It is rich in vitamin E and antioxidant substances, especially the mineral selenium. In each chestnut there is enough daily selenium. Its benefits are for example its antioxidant action, reducing the risk of certain serious diseases such as atherosclerosis and cancer. It improves the immune system, and the metabolism of the thyroid gland. It has no gluten. It lowers bad cholesterol (LDL) and raises good cholesterol (HDL), protecting the heart.
It controls blood pressure, and improves bone health. To an arginine protein, it contributes to the growth of muscles for those who exercise.
