As it is tradition for many years, we have for you, this Christmas, the Pão de Ló from the Casa do Pão de Ló Delícia de Vizela. Produced since 1880 by the same family. Joaquina Pedrosa da Silva was the one that created a type of Original Sponge Cake called Vizela Sponge Cake, a fundamental product with which she founded the House. Its high quality was appreciated by refined consumers who, when eating it, exclaimed: What a Delight!
From this natural exclamation came the name of baptism of the gastronomic specialty, being called Delícia (Delight) Pão de Ló de Vizela, since always, also popularly known by Bolinhol.
You can only find this precious cake in the shop in Lisbon, at Rua da Betesga.
