The streets fill with lights, the city buzzes naturally, and the aroma of nuts, spices, wines, and chocolates spreads throughout the store, creating that special atmosphere that only Christmas can bring.
Every year, we welcome families who have made this ritual a long-standing tradition. Some have been walking through our doors for three, four, or even five generations. People who were children here now bring their children and even grandchildren, because Christmas “is not the same” without a visit to Manuel Tavares. It is here that they buy the Port wine that accompanies their festive dinner, the “old-fashioned” nuts, the cheeses and cured meats that are staples on their table, the preserves that never fail, or the chocolate that ends the evening with that special touch.
