A wine announced only in extraordinary years, rare and singular, which allows you to taste the best that is made in the Douro(...) Created in 1960 by Fernando Nicolau de Almeida, Reserva Especial has only 18 editions, each one presenting a profile distinct, but revealing the same identity and origin: the Douro Superior.
Reserva Especial 2014 is the most recent example of this great Douro red, a new vintage born under the full supervision and responsibility of Luís Sottomayor. For Sogrape’s head of oenology in the Douro, “It is a wine that stands out for its elegance, the result of a temperate year with good maturation, and also for its excellent volume, lively acidity, firm tannins and an extremely long and complex finish”. - Producer
