Dark tea color surrounded by a crown of yellow gold. Subtle olive green reflections on the maple show the great age of the wine. The nose is majestic and firm. Multiple interwoven dimensions and layers of flavor have evolved over decades of aging in oak casks. A backdrop of cedar, balsamic aroma gives the wine a fresh and distinctive character. All this is covered by warmer notes of caramel, marzipan and vanilla wrapped in a soft and fine wood aroma. The palate is fresh and vibrant, with the acidity and alcohol beautifully integrated, as well as the smooth, silky texture that is the hallmark of the best cask-aged Ports.
